In the hub of Delhi, right amidst the hustle and bustle I live in a fiercely protected colony with plenty of greens and 3 whole parks. How? I'm not sure, maybe a passing angel sneezed at the wrong time dropping dust of luck that we are now availing.
This house I live in has big windows facing a Jamun tree. All real facts. It is a beautiful home; summers are bearable and winters are warm. The colony we live in has guards that we trust, so if I or my flatmates need to step outside after, (control your gasps) 10 pm in Delhi it is a possibility for us. I know the amount of privileged and luck in just these 3 sentences is disgusting.
But don't worry there are small blips that affect even the mightily blessed. I will only focus on 2 small blips to keep this short.
For 1 there is the un-breathable Delhi air. This beautiful house we live in is unfortunately not rent free, so we need to step out of the house and work. Which means stepping away from our lovely machine purified air, to the polluted poisoned city air. Its bad enough to cause seasonal throat infections in all of us, including my sister who was admitted last year. I and the uneducated Moolchand doctors falsely believed till 2024 that it was due to the horrible AQI, but our venerable city CM has corrected these subjective opinions of ours. So this year I have been using the power of manifestation to not get infected it hasn't worked yet, but I know the fault is mine. I just need to strengthen my belief.
The second small blip came this month with the water smelling like sewage and my unpatriotic sister falling terribly sick. She has been doing these dramatics since the beginning of January, claiming it was Delhi's water quality that caused a massive stomach infection.
Whatever her and her doctor can sit next to Sonam Wangchuk and defend these anti-Indian stands. These are the things I think about as I stare outside my tightly closed window at the sprawling leaves and small blue fruits of the Jamun tree. Why cant people focus on the good things and just choose happiness.
